Missing 411
Missing 411 is an evolving interdisciplinary performance piece based in horror-comedy and devised by SlugFest Theater, developed and first presented as part of a creative residency at the Upper Jay Art Center in March 2020. This iteration of the piece was called Missing 411: The Musical. In February 2021, the piece underwent a second round of development at Upper Jay Art Center. This iteration of the piece was called Missing 411: Into the Void. To navigate the limitations of performance in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, SlugFest created an interdisciplinary version of the show blending live performance and projected film from within a three-story building. Using windows as visual sight-lines and radio transmission to broadcast sound, performers tell the story to audiences in parked cars from across a busy intersection in a global-health-dystopian take on the drive-in movie experience.
Borrowing source material from the CanAm Missing Project and the Missing411 community on Reddit, in this interdisciplinary performance piece, SlugFest creates a world of disappearance, horror, and physical comedy.
